Dwarahat MlA Madan Singh Bisht who had hit the headlines on Sunday over the second sting video targeting Harish Rawat and who had later hurled a string of allegation against the rebel MlA and former State Minister Harak Singh Rawat at whose residence the video was shot, seems to have vanished into thin air. Police says he is elusive despite their ‘sincere’ efforts to trace him up. Notably, Bisht had registered a complaint on Sunday against Rudraprayag MlA Harak Singh Rawat in Rajpur police station some hours before the sting video was out.
When contacted, Rajpur police station in-charge sub-inspector Rajesh Sah said that he had not received any complaint regarding the same from MlA Bisht. “However, we have taken cognisance of the matter from the media reports. Police team has been formed to trace him and to crack the case. Moreover, police are trying to get in touch with Bisht. But he was not found at his residence and at some other places we went in his search,” he added.
It should be mentioned here that MlA from Dwarahat, Bisht had sought security from Dehradun police. In his written complaint to Rajpur police station, Bisht is learnt to have stated that ahead of the floor test slated for Tuesday, he was being threatened by Rudraprayag MlA Harak Singh Rawat. He is said to have stated that
Harak Singh Rawat had been brow-beating him to vote against Harish Rawat during the vote of confidence failing which Rawat warned he would squarely face consequences. The MlA further said that Harak Singh Rawat had been doing the bidding of BJP. According to Bisht, Harak Singh Rawat had also threatened to expose him through sting operation.
Bisht had demanded FIR be lodged against the accused in the police station to be followed by action against the rebel Congress leader.
