There have been no new cases of COVID-19 in Uttarakhand during the past about 100 hours while seven patients have recovered and returned home. The lab report of two-three patients is likely to be negative in the coming few days.
However, future uncertainties cannot be rejected because ymptoms of COVID-19 are either not being seen or being seen after many days in some cases.
Considering this, it is vital to maintain a high level of alertness, said the Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat.
Interacting with the media at the secretariat after discharging various official tasks on Monday the CM exhorted the people to cover their faces in any way.
Using a mask and maintaining social distancing can provide about 80 per cent safety from the virus.
Referring to the incident at Vanbhulpura in Haldwani when a large crowd had created disturbance when a Government team went to administer a health check to a Maulvi in a mosque on Sunday, the CM said that considering the situation he had ordered imposition of curfew in the area. Stressing that the State government will take strict measures for containment of COVID-19, he appealed religious leaders, intelligentsia and social workers to assist the state government in raising public awareness. At a time when COVID-19 pandemic is afflicting the world, long term alertness is required to tackle this problem, he said.
Regarding the lockdown, Rawat said that the Central government had formed a committee for exit plan for the lockdown.
A uniform policy will have to be implemented in the nation to tackle this crisis.
The State government is awaiting the Centre’s exit plan and will take a decision according to it.
The lockdown will have to be eased gradually and Uttarakhand government has also given its suggestions to the Government of India regarding this. In general, the opinion of all the states is same regarding the lockdown, added the CM
