Public Works Department (PWD) Minister, Satpal Maharaaz has said that Uttarakhand has no land bank for compensatory afforestation (CA) for construction of roads.
He said that the process of land transfer from forest in 416 road projects is going on. A budget of Rs 44.45 crore is sanctioned for these stalled road projects.
He was responding to a question by Rajpur MLA, Khajan Das during question hour on Tuesday. The member had asked about the number of road projects hindered by the non availability of NOC from the forest department.
