The State Government has no information about the number of small scale industries which were closed in the last few years. This shocking admission was made by the industries Minister Ganesh Joshi in the State Assembly on Friday.
The Dhanaulti MLA, Pritam Singh Panwar had asked the Minister about the number of MSME registered and closed in the State. In his reply the minister said that a total of 54725 MSME units have been registered in the state since its formation. He said that earlier the government of India used to conduct industrial census every five years but since this census has not occurred since the year 2006-07 the department does not have any record of the closed industrial units. In response to another question the minister Joshi said that a sum of Rs 26.04 crore were spent on the Investment summit held in the year 2019. He claimed that a work of 538 projects signed during the summit has started and 31,600 people have got employment in them.
