Dehradun police is yet to make any breakthrough in the case of a computer shop at Connaught Place on Chakrata Road being burglarised on Tuesday night.
Earlier, in view of lok Sabha polling on Wednesday,
security was beefed up with central force and police force being deployed at various places in the city. Despite this, thieves
managed to burglarise the shop and police are clueless in this case so far.
Kotwali police station in-charge SS Bisht said that teams consisting of Special Operation Group and local police have been formed and they are working on it.
He informed that the burglary was reported on Wednesday after which the police reached the spot and inspected the shop. In his written complaint, the computer shop owner Mahendra Rajput said that he reached his shop on Wednesday
morning and found the shop’s lock broken. Some computers and tablets were missing from the shop. Taking cognisance of this, a case under appropriate sections of IPC was
registered against unidentified persons in the Kotwali
Police Station.
Critics point out that the thieves burglarised the shop, located in the heart of the city and decamped with computers and tables amounting to lakhs of rupees. Several such cases were reported in the city in the past.
In some cases, police somehow managed to arrest the
culprits while few cases are yet to be solved. The level of
security in the fringe areas of the State capital can be gauged from the number of burglaries in the heart of the city.
