No auction for donated gold for now

The authorities got all the gold and silver donated by devotees at Mansa Devi temple trust in Haridwar weighed by four goldsmiths.

A total of 21 kg silver and 369 grammes gold were ascertained to have been donated to the temple. However, the main trustee requested that since the price of gold and silver is quite low at present so the gold and silver donated to the temple was not auctioned now to avoid loss to the temple trust.

Both the precious metals have been sealed and kept in the custody of the main trustee for auction at a later date. The Haridwar city magistrate KK Mishra said that the entire procedure had been videographed in the presence of assistant treasury officer of Haridwar, Baru Singh, the Kotwali inspector and four goldsmiths.
