No arrangements for media at session

To cover the special session of the Vidhan Sabha in Gairsain, the information department had brought more than 50 journalists, including electronic and print, but they did not bother to provide them with the necessary connectivity and other facilities.

They made arrangements for them at the Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GMVN) guest house at Kaleshwer, which is 65 km away from Gairsain. The media was transported in a bus so were unable to reach anywhere on time. In the tough terrain, they were forced to either go by bus or by their own conveyance.

In the Vidhan Sabha building the Government did not bother to install a fan or a speaker so they (media persons) were unable to hear or concentrate on their work.  Even their seating arrangements were made behind the legislature. For the legislators a podium was constructed at a higher level then the media persons seating arrangement.

Due to this the media persons were neither able to hear the ongoings of the session because a speaker was not placed in the media gallery nor were thay able to see the Opposition or the ruling benches. The Speaker did not bother to pay attention to the media gallery. When Chief Minister Harish Rawat came to the media gallery the media persons apprised him about the lack of arrangements for the media. He assured that he would ask the officials concerned to look into it.
