The High Court on Saturday fixed December 17 as the next date of hearing in the CD sting case initiated by the CBI and challenged by Chief Minister Harish Rawat.
Notably, when the State was embroiled in the political crisis since March 18, a middlemen had made the sting CD which purportedly showed then CM Rawat saying that he would have his eyes closed to help the dissident Minister to spirit away Rs 25-30 crore from his Ministry in case he chose to return to the Congress fold later, the CBI lodged a case and started probe. To have the case scrapped, Rawat filed a petition before the High Court, pleading that the State Government had already constituted special investigation team (SIT) to probe the case.
