In order to strengthen security further, a police post outside Suddhowala jail has been set up at the behest of the Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police Pushpak Jyoti.
A sub-inspector has been deputed as police post in-charge. Four constables and a section of Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) jawans have also been deputed there. The initiative came in the wake of the reports submitted previously revealing that persons enter the jail premises without showing valid identity cards. Police forces have been directed to be vigilant on the visitors. Apart from frisking the visitors, police would also take their snaps. Besides, submission of photo identity cards by the visitors is a must for entry into the jails, he added.
