New Govt would bring new era of fast-paced development: Ajay Bhatt

Hailing the budget that was placed in the House on Thursday by the State Finance Minister Prakash Pant  as development-oriented, State BJP chief Ajay Bhatt said that the first budget  of the  Trivendra Singh Rawat government would bring about a new era of fast-paced  development. He also condemned the Congress for staging ‘cheap drama’ in the name of protest inside and outside the House. “They have shown their true colour, their scant respect for the people who have sent its MlAs to raise the local issues. They chose to have the Question Hour wasted away,” he said.

“I am happy that the chief minister and the finance minister have formulated the budget proposals, keeping in view the pro-poor vision of the visionary leader  Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyay  whose centenary  we are celebrating now,” he added.

He said that through the budget, the State Government has vowed to provide  houses to the poor, roads and electricity  to the rural  people,  security to women and new bus bays for all.  “All  these decisions have been taken in the interests  of  the poor people of the state. They also talked about tourism development, administrative reform and labour reform as well. State has allocated sufficient funds  for education, employment, drinking water and health. All  these combined together would  check migration through,” Bhatt added.

Commenting on the Congress MlAs’ behaviour inside the Assembly, Bhatt said that the party is yet to digest its defeat. “Still fuming with rage over their electoral debacle, they have ceased to   differentiate the wrong from the right,” he said.

While referring to the NH-74 scam, he said that it was a legacy of the  Congress regime. “BJP-helmed state government has taken steps to unearth it while suspending six PCS officers. Currently, investigation is on and the state government would not spare those involved in it,” he affirmed.

Commenting on the former CM Harish Rawat’s sit-in outside the Vidhan Sabha, protesting against the session not being held at Gairsain, Bhatt said that the state government would not hold session in the hill town of Chamoli district until the required infrastructure is put into place. “By deciding to hold the session in Dehradun, the State Government has saved millions of rupees which would have been squandered had the  session been held at Gairsain. BJP does not believe in flippant  propaganda. let me assure the people that the BJP Government would declare Gairsain as the  summer capital of the state once the necessary infrastructure is put into place,” Bhatt said.
