New counters reduce chaos at DMC Hospital

With the hospital administration opening additional registration and billing counters, the associated hospital of Doon Medical College (DMC) appeared less chaotic and looked well-managed on Wednesday.

The hospital management had taken the decision to open six registration and billing counter each to ease burden at these facilities. On Wednesday all these counters with increased manpower smoothened things and scenes like long serpentine queues with patients jostling each other were not visible on the day.

The patients also appeared happy with the pleasant change of things. “I had come prepared for a long day grueling day in the hospital but there was no crowd at the counters. They have increased the number of counters which certainly helped things,’’ said Naresh Kumar a resident of Deepnagar.

The hospital had four registration and three billing counters which were not able to bear increased patient load due to the merger of Doon Hospital and Doon Women hospital into the associated hospital of Doon Medical College (DMC) due to which regular chaotic scenes were observed at them.

The patients had to stand in long queues for hours together due to which they had to visit the hospital again if the doctor advised some pathology test.

The Principal of DMC, Dr Pradeep Bharati Gupta said that more facilities would be provided for the patients in the hospital in due course of time. He informed that orders to purchase four Air Conditioners (AC) for pediatric ward of the hospital have been given and soon they would be installed.
