Countering former CM Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank’s claim on bodies remaining entrapped in rubbles, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat’s media advisor Surendra Kumar said the State Government had never said there was no body lying there.
“If Nishank really wants to have all the bodies excavated he should first approach Geological Survey of India (GSI) as it has strictly asked the Government and others not to disturb the debris that resulted from 2013 deluge. If GSI gives the nod the State Government would remove debris on war footing,” he said. He further said if Dr Nishank has the expertise to have debris removed without defying GSI recommendation State Government has no problem,” he added.
He further clamied Nishank though a veteran leader had been suffering from an emotional crisis. “He should rather warn the BJP- led Union Government that he would quit from Haridwar lok Sabha seat in case he is not inducted in the Union Cabinet. He is sharp enough not to go that far. However, if he so wants he can resign. But for that, he cannot hold the Uttarakhand Government responsible,” Kumar said.
