After the chairperson of the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) Usha Negi had directed Inspector General (IG) of Garhwal for an investigation into the complaint of a woman to the commission regarding violence against her by her husband and another man, it was ascertained that she is married to the other man too.
According to the complainant, she was allegedly captured by a man in a village of Pauri district in connivance with her husband who was also involved in her alleged kidnapping. However, according to Negi, it was revealed by the witnesses presented by the complainant's husband that he and his wife had mutually filed for divorce in January and the next date was set for July but the complainant got married to the other said man in March before their divorce was even settled and went with her second husband to a village in Pauri.
Negi informed that the complainant has also confirmed these statements to be true, adding that she willingly went to the village with her second husband. Since these crucial details were hidden by the complainant from police so far, Negi stated that she has directed IG to investigate this matter including all the accusations and submit the investigation report within one month to the commission.
