The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for admission in medical and dental colleges was held in 14 examination centres in the State on Sunday. Most of the students termed the examination as an easy one but the subject experts were of the view that the paper was on expected lines.
An approximately 15,000 students appeared in the examination in Uttarakhand which was held in many centres of Dehradun and Haldwani.
One of the applicants, Anushka Martolia while coming out of the examination centre of Kendriya Vidhyalaya (KV), ONGC, said that all sections of the question paper were fairly simple and she expected to clear the examination in her first attempt. Another student of the same centre Pragya Kumari also said that she did not expected the questions to the so simple and claimed that she completed the paper much before the stipulated time.
“The paper was very lengthy and most of us found Biology to be on the easier side than other sections. My friends found Physics section difficult to solve. But, the paper was better than the last year’s paper”, said Prashant Verma, who had unsuccessfully attempted NEET last year also.
The Managing Director (MD) of Achievers classes here, Manu Pant said that the paper was on expected lines. He was of the view that Biology section was easy and 86 questions were from NCERT books. Pant termed the Physics paper as a nice balance of Class XI and XII. “ Not even a single question was asked sections like AC and friction and one question was wrong as correct option was not in the answer ,’’ he said.
Other subject experts informed that two questions in Physics and one in chemistry were wrong. The NEET -2017 results are expected to be out by the second week of June. The experts are of the view that the cut off marks for the students of general category would be around 475 marks.
