The sulking Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Anoop Nautiyal has said that he is firm on his decision to quit the position of president of State working committee and would reconsider his decision only when the removal of six party leaders is revoked.
After his resignation on Sunday, Nautiyal was approached by central leaders of the party. Nautiyal had resigned from the position of the president of State working committee of party in protest against the style of functioning of the State party-in-charge Vivek Yadav. Immediately after his resignation the AAP leader Ashutosh called up Nautiyal and listened his grievance. He reportedly requested him to reconsider his decision.
On the issue of disciplinary action on six AAP leaders Nautiyal was not in sync with the State party in-charge Yadav. In a meeting of the state unit of party in Haridwar on Saturday, Yadav had asked Nautiyal to suspend AAP leaders Onkar Bhatia, Kamal Devradi, Sameer Mundepi, R Chug, Manoj Chaudhary and Manoj Divedi from the party. Nautiyal was not happy with the decision and told Yadav that the action should be taken against these leaders in accordance with the guidelines of the party. It is learnt that a large chunk of party leaders in the state wanted that the party should participate in the ensuing assembly elections but Yadav was against the idea. The AAP leaders of the state also blame Yadav for his whimsical and dictatorial attitude.
Talking to The Pioneer, Nautiyal clarified that his decision to quit the party position has nothing to do with the issue of contesting the elections or not. The AAP leader said that he is against the disciplinary action against old party leaders and responded to his inner voice.
