Disgruntled Aam Aadami Party (AAP) leader Anoop Nautiyal has rejected the charge of laxity in fighting corruption leveled against him by some party workers.
Addressing a Press conference here on Thursday, the former convener of the State working committee of AAP, Nautiyal said that charge made by some of the party workers that he was not serious on the issue of corruption is most unfortunate and mischievous.
He said that he is hurt by these malicious statements by a section of party workers. Presenting a chronology of the events on the Rs240 crore scam in the Uttarakhand Power corporation, Nautiyal said that he started the agitation on the issue.
On June 22 the party workers organised a massive dharna in front of the office of UPCl and on June 27 an open letter was sent to Chief Minister Harish Rawat. Nautiyal said that in this letter the CM was asked to act on this mega case of corruption till July 3 failing which the party threatened to knock at the door of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Nautiyal added that on July 6 a Press conference was organised on the issue in which was jointly addressed by him and the State party in-charge Vivek Yadav.
He said that though he resigned from his party post on July 17, he lodged a complaint in the case at the office of CBI on July 22.
Nauityal vowed to continue what he called Anti Corruption crusade in Uttarakhand. He, however, parried the questions of his future political plans and added that he still is with the AAP.
