Veteran freedom fighter and politician Govind Ballabh Pant had said that no one can stop the popularisation and development of Hindi. Industrialist and philanthropist Jamnalal Bajaj had called Hindi the language of love, national unity and freedom. Noted British teacher born in 1813, Sir Isaac Pitman used to call Devanagari the complete script. One can learn such interesting aspects of Hindi from quotes displayed at the nation’s first Rajbhasha garden ready for inauguration at lalkuan railway station. A small library is also being facilitated at this site. This Rajbhasha garden is slated to be inaugurated soon by the Divisional Rail Manager Chandra Mohan Singh Jindal with necessary arrangements having been completed for the same.

Providing this information, the Izzatnagar Division Rajbhasha officer Rajendra Kumar and Senior Section Engineer RS Kamalbansi said that the idea of building such a garden on the vacant spot between platforms number one and two was first considered in 2013. The scrap received form the railways was used to construct the boundary and other features of this garden while a variety of trees were also planted here. Kumar informed that as per the Rajbhasha Rules 1976 Indian States have been categorised from the linguistic aspect into Hindi speaking, mixed and non- Hindi speaking. An attempt has been made to display Indian states as per this categorisation on a model map developed in the garden. A pond with fishes has also been incorporated into the garden developed by the railway personnel with money from their own pockets. Meanwhile, Kamalbansi said that the Sumitranandan Pant library being established here will provide a collection of about 400 books in Hindi by popular authors and poets. Visitors can also practice Yoga in a Yoga park being developed alongside, he added.

Workers and locals have commended the Railways for taking active interest in the development of Rajbhasha garden here.
