NAPSR seeks expansion in RTE Act, writes to Javadekar

Keeping the importance of education for the beneficiaries under the Right to Education (RTE) Act 2009 into consideration, the National Association for Parents and Student Rights (NAPSR) has written a letter to the Union human resources development (HRD) Minister Prakash Javadekar, seeking expansion in the Right To Education Act, (2009).

A senior member of the association said that in course of the discussion on various issues related to the education system at a meeting  held on Monday, they concluded that  the expansion of RTE is very important for educating the children in a better way. “The fact is that studying in the intermediate costs more than studying in high school,” he said.

Revealing  further, the head of the association Arif Khan said, “Illiteracy is one of the most serious problems in our country. It is difficult for the students from the poor background to continue after the high school stage is over.

Hence, it is very important that the RTE Act 2009 covers the intermediate education of such students as well. After deliberating on the matter and taking consent of the parents based in Dehradun, we have sent a letter to Union HRD Minister, seeking his intervention in the expansion of RTE Act 2009."
