Nanhi Duniya's special Christmas

Published on:

In a moving show, specially- abled children teamed up with ordinary students at Rangshala, Nanhi Duniya  enacted a play depicting the birth of Jesus to celebrate Christmas.  It was heart-melting to see differently-abled children playing their characters such as of gentle sheep.

The innocent kids also portrayed the characters from the nativity tableau. One of the teachers dressed as mother nature explained, along with her student Saransh explained the relevance of saving environment and also talked about the benefits of eating fruits.

Kiran Ulfat Goyal, principal of Nanhi Duniya shared the experience from behind the curtain. The principal said that the show had been organised only with donations, voluntary work and was reinforced with hardwork of students and staff.

As the scenes changed, cues were given to the children with bells and wooden sticks. It revealed how each child is special and unique in their own way. Kiran says, “Nanhi Duniya is a movement. It is not a school. Our real achievement is in keeping the children happy. Afterall, happiness if the true essence and meaning of  Christmas.”

Kiran Ulfat also went on to express the memories from old times, when the mothers used to carve out toys just by stuffing cotton in a cloth. The children used the gift of their imagination to fancy these stuffed balls as dolls, rabbits, dogs and angels.

“It is this education through imagination, that we aim to provide these children.  We are making a difference and progressing with small yet consistent steps. We are hopeful that kids will take forward this vision for sure. It is within each of them that we find God.”
