The Nainital district administration has asked the officials concerned of different departments to help the people living in forest villages avail different Government run popular schemes under the forest laws.

Those people who have been living in forest villages for many years must be empowered with their basic rights, said Arvind Singh Hyanki, District Magistrate, Nainital. Therefore, he added, all the officials concerned must identify such villagers and collect their documents so that such people could also be covered under the Government run popular schemes.

In this regard, the Nainital District Magistrate has asked the officials concerned of the  district social welfare department to collect the necessary documents of the people living in forest villages in coordination with the officials concerned of the respective forest divisions so these villagers could also be covered under the Government run popular  schemes on the basis of these documents.

At the same time the Nainial district administration will also set up camps across the district ahead this month to help the people living in forest villages, as the officials concerned informed. Apart from officials concerned of the district administration, members from block committee will also be present in these camps so that the proposals submitted by the village committees in regard to empowering the people of the forest villages could be scrutinised by the block committee in these camps. Subsequently, the proposals cleared by the block committee would be forwarded to the district committee for further action, added the officials concerned of the district administration, Nainial.
