Arrangements for facilitating safe delivery in eight primary health centres in remote rural areas of Nainital district were put in order recently. On Monday, a woman gave birth to a child at the ANM centre Daulatpur in Motahaldu area.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Nainital district magistrate Savin Bansal had directed measures to ensure safe child deliveries in the health centre located in remote rural areas of the district.
Workers of the health department also gave training to Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (ANM) workers and Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) workers for the execution of safe delivery in the district.
Bansal informed that achieving a decrease in mother-infant mortality rates, looking after both the mother and child before and after the delivery and ensuring safe delivery are among the top priorities of the district administration.
Bansal also informed that the arrangements for safe delivery in primary health care centres and ANM centres are being done to promote delivery in state hospitals and to prevent the risk of delivery at homes.
Efforts are being made to strengthen the health care sector in the district and also to provide medications at a very less price.
This is being done so that even poor people can enjoy the benefits.
He said that good health is important for everybody but to provide better health facilities for children and women is crucial.
Bansal informed that an amount of Rs 1400 and Rs 1000 will be provided to women in village and city areas respectively in the district.
The district magistrate encouraged the people to come to government hospitals for safe deliveries.
He further said that ANM centres are being developed as delivery centres too to ensure safe deliveries.
