The Nainital district police has gone hi-tech, replacing conventional method of registering public complaints like FIR with modern online system. More so, progress report of the case will also be available only a click away after introduction of the crime and criminal tracking and networking system( CCTNS). DIG (Kumaon range) G N Goswami, launched the CCTNS project at the Haldwani Police Station here on Thursday.
Inaugurating the online system of policing Goswami expressed hope that this modern system of police functioning will help the police bring greater degree of transparency in its day to day working. More importantly, it will also help us address the grievances of the public in prompt and effective manner and strengthen the enforcement capability of the police force, maintained the DIG. The online system of registering complaints as well as maintaining records would definitely help crack the cases faster, maintained the police officials concerned.
