With the starting of the by-election process for the Nainital district election office for the vacant posts of the gram pradhan and member of the village panchayat in different blocks of the district, the candidates may file their nomination papers from 10 am to 5 pm on November 25 and November 26, as the officials concerned said.
Similarly, scrutiny of the nomination papers will be done from 10 am on November 27, added the officials of the Nainital district administration. The candidates who wish to withdraw from the fray may do so between 10 am to 1 pm on November 28, added the officials.
In this process while symbols will be allotted to candidates on November 29, voting for the by-election for different posts of panchyat bodies, including gram pradhan and village panchayat member, will be held from 8 am to 5 pm on December 9 and the counting of votes will be held on December 12, further said the officials.
Meanwhile, the model code of conduct has also been enforced in the by-poll-bound village panchyats in the district and the same will remain effective till December 12, added the officials.
