With the current financial year coming to its fag end, the Nainital district administration has been able to spend only Rs 32.77 crore out of the total Rs 52.65 crore lakh approved under the district plan for the year 2013-2014 during the past 10 months i.e. till February end from April 2013.
However, the officials concerned of the Nainital district administration have maintained that out of the total Rs 52.65 lakh approved under the district plan for the year 2013-2014, only Rs 36.35 crore has been released by the Government so far. So, out of the released amount i.e. Rs 36.35 crore under the district plan, different departments of the Nainital district administration have spent Rs 32.77 crore till February end which is about 90 per cent of the released amount , they have added. Now, the matter of concern is that if the district administration, Nainital, has been able to spend only Rs 32.77 crore lakh out of the total Rs 52.65 crore, how can it utilise rest of the fund i.e. about Rs 19.88 crore under the same district plan head in the remaining period i.e. till March 31, 2014 of the current financial yearIJ
Meanwhile, the district administration has asked the officials concerned to expedite works on the ongoing developmental projects so that these developmental works could be completed on time.
