Mussoorie MlA Ganesh Joshi met the Uttarakhand sub area GOC Major General S Sabharwal at the sub area headquarters on Friday. The MlA discussed various works with the GOC, including the treatment plan being execution at Vijay Colony by the Peyjal Nigam, Mitthi Behri case, temporary Tata Magic stand near MES quarters-Pathariyapeer bridge, no objection certificate for the construction of a public toilet at Robbers’ Cave-Gucchupani Chowk, construction of damaged roads in the cantonment area through the MES and issues related to power supply.

Joshi said that in spite of the Government order issued on August 20, 2013 to resolve the dispute between civilians and the army at Mitthi Behri, the army has continued to stake its claim on the land in this area and prohibit construction. This is the situation in spite of the fact that the army has been allocated five acres land at Kolhupani in lieu of this land.

The MlA said that he had requested for construction of public toilet at Robbers’ Cave-Gucchupani chowk through the ONGC for which ONGC had sought details of the land ownership detail. It had been informed that the land in question is not cantonment land, he said, while stressing on the need for construction of the public toilet considering the importance of Robbers’ Cave from the tourism point of view.
