Muslims serve Kanwar pilgrims at Kassaban Durgaghat

Against the backdrop of the communal fire  consuming  the mutual relation between the Hindus and the Muslims off and on,  the holy city Haridwar   has set an example for all to imbibe. As per their annual tradition, this year also the Muslim community welcomed the Kanwar pilgrims by hosting a camp at Mohalla Kassaban Durgaghat on Tuesday. The camp was inaugurated by the District Magistrate of Haridwar.

Citing Ganga Jamui Tehzeeb, the Muslim offered fruits and juice to the kanwariyas passing on the highway.

“If Hindus can hug us on Id-ul-fitr and participate in Iftar party why can’t we show our solidarity towards themIJ  We can pray  to the Almighty best through serving men no whatever community they belong  to. This is the real Ibadat (prayer) we are  doing,” said Rao Ifaq Ali of Jwalapur.

Another Muslim leader Naeem Quereshi said, “Haridwar is considered one amongst the places in  India where Hindu Muslim bonhomie reigns. We are just taking the   tradition ahead through showering of solidarity  on our  Hindu brethren.”
