The daughter in law of the Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav, Aparna Bisht Yadav, who hails from Uttarakhand, defended the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s move to recall high value currencies to weed out black money while she was in Haridwar on Thursday.
However, she hastened to add that the bungling with the implementation part had landed the common people in dire straits. Notably, 26-year-old Aparna is all set to contest from the lucknow Cantonment seat during the upcoming election in the State.
“The poor are bearing the brunt of the move with the Centre unleashing it with the least preparedness. Chaos is prevailing everywhere across the country,” she said.
She was here to preside over the felicitation function of national president of SP lohia Vahini, Chandra Shekhar Yadav organised at party office at laltarao bridge in Haridwar.
Speaking to The Pioneer, Chandra Shekhar Yadav said, “We have asked Aparna ji to lead the party in Uttarakhand. She said she was ready to take up the responsibility in case the party’s central leadership approves.”
Notably, Samajwadi Party which was once a force to reckon within Haridwar district got marginalized after two of its leaders had left, one joining the Congress and the other BJP.
Aparna is the wife of Mulayam Singh Yadav’s younger son Prateek who is busy with his real estate business away from politics.
