Country's first eunuch MlA, Shabnam Mausi of Madhya Pradesh campaigned for the Congress rebel and the independent candidate from Raipur assembly constituency, Rajni Rawat on Wednesday.
Mausi created history in the year 2002 when she was elected from Shahdol assembly constituency of Madhya Pradesh and became first transgender to achieve this feat. She made an emotional appeal to the electorate of Raipur and asked them to vote for Rajni Rawat who also belongs to the third gender.
The duo campaigned in Muslim colony, Garh Vihar, Mangluwala, Adarsh Nagar, Garhwali Colony and Madhur Vihar areas on the day. In these public meetings, Rajni Rawat claimed that she is receiving overwhelming support of all sections of the society due to which the candidates of all major political parties are having sleepless nights. Rawat said that the candidates of both BJP and Congress in Raipur don’t have courage to go to people and inform about their achievements. She said that she served the people of the state dedicatedly when she was deputy chairperson of the state women commission. “I have now resigned from the post of deputy chairperson. The Congress party does not have the will to serve the people. If its (congress) conscience was clear than it would not have such a bad situation,’’ she said. large number of supporters of Rajni took part in the campaigning.
