The construction of the Purkul-Hathipaon ropeway should be completed soon, said Mussoorie MlA Ganesh Joshi while meeting the State Tourism and Sports Secretary Shailesh Bagauli in the Secretariat on Monday.
The MlA stressed that the construction of parking facility at Sahastradhara also needs to be completed without delay. Tourists visiting Sahastradhara are facing considerable inconvenience in the absence of parking facility. This also results in traffic congestion in the area which poses considerable problems to the local residents, said Joshi. Bagauli informed that an agreement has been reached for release of about `200 crore for the construction of the Purkul- Hathipaon ropeway with a Government order to this effected expected to be issued in the next couple of days. He also talked to the official concerned of the executing agency on phone directing him to start construction of the parking at Sahastradhara with immediate effect.
