The medical and health department with the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) finalised the promotions of 108 Senior Medical Officers into the cadre of Joint Director (JD). As per the new transfer policy, most of these doctors would now be posted in remote and mountainous areas of the State.
The Doon hospital authorities and the doctors concerned have not received the orders the names of 10 doctors who are presently posted here figure in the list of promotions. Out of these 10 doctors Dr Mahavir Singh (Physician), Dr NS Khatri (pediatrics), Dr NK Mishra (pathologist) and Dr RS Chauhan (ENT) have managed to prevent their transfers and rejoined Doon hospital as joint Directors. Similarly in the Doon Women hospital Dr Shikha Jangpangi also managed to stay in her present place of posting.
