With the railway officials gearing up for the Ardh Kumbh Mela and the expected    massive turnout of  pilgrims on the key snan days,  new ticket counters and increased frequency of trains are in the offing for the ease of the pilgrims. This was announced by the Kumbh Mela Adhikari of the Railways during his visit to Rishikesh on Monday.

During his inspection visit at Rishikesh railway station, Railway Mela Adhikari Y P Tripathi said that the arrangements have been reviewed and the necessary directions given to the staff. “Rishikesh being an important part of the Ardh Kumbh Mela, the transport facilities need  to be better. All the basic amenities like drinking water have been facilitated. Apart from these basic needs, shuttle trains would be started between the twin cities.” The official also announced that five extra ticket counters have been opened at the Railway station.

Notably these shuttle trains would run seven times per day during morning and evening hours.==========
