Interestingly, Governor Dr KK Paul has not yet put his signature on the Money Bill, which was declared passed by the Speaker despite 35 MlAs - 26 BJP and nine rebel Congress MlAs - joining hands to stall the passage of the Bill in the House sans voting.
Sources said that the Governor has withheld his signature, citing the dissent of as many as 35 MlAs out of the House's strength of 69 with BJP MlA Ganesh Joshi being in jail. Now, the Bill will be referred to the lok Sabha to be passed sometime in mid-April. Observers say that the State might face a grave financial crisis till the Bill is passed. However, the Governor can provide funds for the day-to-day expenses of the Government from the contingency fund till the budget is passed by the lok Sabha.
