Three rallies of Narendra Modi, scheduled to be held at Palampur, Mandi and Solan have rejuvenated the BJP workers in Himachal Pradesh with the party saying that after the rallies, they would have a clear edge over rival Congress. Jai Ram Thakur, BJP leader and former minister said lakhs of Modi admirers drawn from two districts — Mandi and Kulu were likely to converge on the sprawling Padal Stadium in the heart of Mandi, the town of temples, on April 29. He said fed up with over two dozens of mega scams during the tenure of Congress led UPA Government people of Himachal Pradesh had made up their mind to weed out the Congress from Dev Bhumi — Himachal Pradesh.
Thakur said Congress had been fooling the innocent people of the hill State by shallow slogans like Garibi Hatao, but in practice it multiplied the poverty whereby things came to such a tragic end that many across the country fell victim to starvation and the Government had to make food security law bringing down the image of the country in the world.
