Congress MlA from Dharchula, Harish Dhami, who had been admitted to the district hospital Pithoragarh on last Sunday following his deteriorating health from Didihat jail, was shifted to the Government Shushila Tiwari Hospital (GSTH), Haldwani on Friday morning on account of the same health ground.
MlA Dhami was admitted to the GSTH at around 10.30 am on Friday. Following complaints of high blood pressure and sugar level, besides other health disorder, he was referred by the doctors of the district hospital Pithoragarh who were attending upon him, to this hospital, said Alok Upreti, spokesperson of the GSTH, while talking to The Pioneer.
Since test reports of his health conditions are yet to come, therefore much can't be said about the health condition of the MlA at this juncture, Upreti maintained.
It is to note that health condition of this Congress MlA started deteriorating only when he began hunger strike after he was jailed in Didihat on last Saturday following order of a Didhihat court in connection with an old case of 2007 in which Dhami was allegedly involved.
Subsequently, the Didihat jail doctors referred ailing Dhami to district hospital Pithoragarh on Sunday. Since then he had been admitted to the same Pithoragarh hospital. However, when his health conditions did not show any improvement, he was admitted to the GSTH, Haldwani this morning.
Since the next hearing on Dhami' s case in the local Didihat court is likely on May 27,it is to be seen whether the MlA from Dharchula gets bail on that or not. Earlier, Dhami surrendered before the Didihat court on Saturday last only when the local Didihat court issued non bailable warrant against him.
He also moved the High Court of Uttarakhand (HCU) challenging the issuance of the NBW and subsequently, the HCU granted him some relief directing him to be present before the Didihat court later on. Following the court's order Dhami surrendered before the Didihat court on Saturday last and applied for bail in this connection on the same day . But the Didihat court cancelled his bail plea and sent him to jail.
On condition of anonymity a senior leader said that MlA Dhami will have to face legal consequences in future because he has not been taking court seriously.
Initially he did not appear in the court and put pressure on executing agency (police) to avoid implementation of Non Bailable Warrant and now he is pretending that he is being harassed by the court.
