Accusing Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra of verbal abuse and issuing threat, Mussoorie MlA Ganesh Joshi of the BJP has said that he will be lodging a complaint in this regard with the senior superintendent of police and director general of police with a copy to the ministry of home affairs. In a statement issued to the media on Sunday evening, the MlA said that he had gone to the Dehradun airport at 10 am to receive the Union minister of State for Women and Child Development, Krishna Raj on Sunday. Joshi alleged, “The Congress president’s son-in-law Robert Vadra made unparliamentary remarks on me. Citing the case of police horse Shaktiman, he attempted to humiliate me at a public place. When I did not respond to his comments, once again he started taunting me from behind and said ‘do you know who I amIJ’.

A person accompanying Vadra then said that he is ‘Robert Vadra ji’. Following this, I halted and told him that making such objectionable comments in a public place does not behoove him.

I also brought it to his knowledge that the incident is currently pending in the court of law and that he was no judge. later when I was moving out of the airport along with the minister, Vadra had stated that ‘I’ll see you’,” alleged the Mussoorie MlA. Joshi further averred, “He has been associated with various such controversial cases in the past wherein he was found to be issuing threat.

However, in order to protect my life, I am making a complaint of this incident with the senior superintendent of police and the director general of police, in addition to which I am also sending the same to the ministry of home affairs,” Joshi said, while also adding that he had been receiving various e-mails and letters issuing threats since the past.

Referring to some media reports about the said altercation taking place when Joshi reportedly presented a bunch of flowers to Vadra, the MlA rejected such reports stating that since he does not know Vadra personally or recognise him, there is no probability of presenting flowers to him or addressing him.

“It was Vadra who was making objectionable comments on me which I ignored in the first instance but it appeared as if he was bent upon doing so with the intention of creating a scene. When he made a comment on me the second time, I answered back in a civic manner.

The veracity of my statements can be ascertained by the records of the closed circuit television cameras at the airport. I request the airport administration to make available the CCTV footage,” he added.
