A few days after the State Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj visited Bada Udaseen Akhada to empathise with the saints in view of the national spokesperson of the akhada Mahant Mohan Das remaining untraced for days, the Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat came to the akhada in Kankhal on Tuesday afternoon.
Notably, the saints had vented anger over the State Government remaining apathetic over the missing seer a few days ago, prompting the State Government to send Maharaj as its emissary. Das had gone missing from a Mumbai-bound train on September 18. CM said that every attempt is being made to locate the missing seer. The seers, who had launched a "rosh rally” (silent march) from Shivmurti to Har Ki Pauri on Friday to protest against the non-serious attitude of the police and Government in locating the missing seer, said after the CM’s visit that they would meet again on October 2 to firm up its future course of action in case the seer remains untraced till then. The CM was accompanied by the State education minister Dhan Singh Rawat, SSP and DM.
Speaking the media persons, CM said, "We are in touch with the UP-based special task force, formed to unravel the mystery. It would very soon reveal about the location of the missing seer. Every attempt is being made to locate the seer. A State level SIT team has been formed too which comprises senior level police officers and district SSP. We are very much worried about the saint.
The saints are our guides. If they are troubled the whole society is troubled.”
Swami Harichetanand of Bada akhada said that the life of the saints is meant for the welfare of the people. “ Such types of incidents are thus disastrous for the society. We have full confidence in what our Chief Minister has said,” he added. Mahant Maheswar Das also echoed the same sentiment, saying that they are waiting for the probe teams to unravel the mystery.
Among other seers present during the meeting with the CM were Raghu Muni, Sukhdev Muni, Damodar Dass, Mahant Gyan Dev Singh of Nirmal Panchayati Akhada and Mahant Dewanand Saraswati of Juna Akhada.
