A 32-year-old woman, Savitri was hacked to death by an unidentified person at her home in Kashipur, Udham Singh Nagar on Monday. She was murdered in broad daylight at noon when she was alone at home. This incident has shocked the local residents.
Kashipur police station in-charge inspector Vinod Jetha said that local police, homicide investigation squad personnel and forensic investigation team rushed to the spot to collect the evidences after being informed about the murder by local residents.
Police recovered the body sent it for post-mortem examination, he added. Police cordoned off the area and started investigation. local police began conducting checking drives at important locations in the area. Inspector Jetha said that to crack the case, several teams have been formed and they have been deployed at various places to nab the suspects.
It is not clear yet how many persons were involved in the woman’s murder while the motive for the murder is not yet known. The woman is survived by her two sons — one is12-year-old while another is 8-year-old. A case under appropriate sections of IPC will be registered against unidentified persons after receiving a report from the deceased’s family, inspector Jetha added.
