Acting on a tip-off, Haridwar police rescued a minor from Jwalapur Railway Station on Monday. The minor had been missing since December 11, 2014. However, police have not been able to apprehend three abductors named in the case. Haridwar police said the victim’s parents had lodged complaint, alleging that three persons — Chand, Gaurav and Kamlesh, all natives of Saharanpur — had abducted their daughter on December 11 last.
Taking cognisance of the complaint, a case under section 494 of IPC was registered against the trio in Jwalapur police station. Haridwar police formed teams to crack the case. They started raiding probable places. Police also pasted pamphlets, seeking information of the missing girl, at various places. Besides, police had the matter published in the print media too.
