Ministerial employees to resume duties today after 2-month strike

Published on:

With striking ministerial employees deciding to resume officials duties from Friday, calling off their nearly two month-old agitation, the citizens who had been facing a lot of difficulties to get their works done have heaved a sigh of relief.

Following the indefinite agitation by the ministerial employees, all major works, including matters related to revenue, remained stuck for nearly two months to the woe of the people. The common people were the worst sufferers as they could not get even their routine works done at the district administration level due to the ministerial employees’ strike.

As it was a public holiday on Thursday, so the employees are supposed to resume their routine works from Friday, said Atul Khani, a resident of Haldwani.

It is a welcome development. It became quite difficult for the common people to get even routine works done due to this dragging stir, he added. State Finance Minister and MlA from Haldwani, Indira Haridayesh, has assured  the employees to address their grievance, saying the employees are the backbone of the Government. So we are with them, she said.

The Government is aware of the concerns of the employees and necessary steps will be taken to solve these problems, she added.
