Minister of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), Mala Singh visited the Indira Amma Canteen situated at MDDA complex near Clock Tower-the first one of the chains that opened on August 15- on Monday. The visit was meant to survey as to how SHGs have been working under the scheme, known as a dream one of the Chief Minister Harish Rawat. During the visit, the minister enquired into the details of the running of the canteen. She was all praise for the ‘hard-working’ women running the canteen. She talked with the women working under the Raj lakshmi self -help group that has been running the canteen. She sounded pleased with the neatness of the kitchen. “She relished ‘Jhangora Kheer’ that was served to her during her visit,” said Puja Dwivedi, president of Raj lakshmi SHG.
