In view of the importance of the Tharali by-elections as it is the first one after the party swept to power, the ruling BJP has appointed Minister of State, Dhan Singh Rawat, known for his organisational skill, as the election in charge for the seat. State BJP president Bhatt said that Rawat’s organisational expertise is well- known both within and outside the state. He added that the chief minister and other cabinet ministers aside from some star campaigners and MPs from the state would be engaged for the campaigning in the by- election.
