Following a joint inspection, space could be provided to 81 shopkeepers either in the Rajaji National Park area or near the Raiwala Sports Stadium. This was decided at a meeting chaired by State Agriculture minister Harak Singh Rawat with locals and district administration and Forest Department to discuss the problems being faced by shopkeepers in Raiwala area.

The Mahila Congress Dehradun district head Madhu Semwal, Jahir Qureshi and Purnachand Dimri of Raiwala Vyapar Sabha informed that the construction of the national highway at Raiwala had exacerbated the threat to the business of shopkeepers. Rawat assured them that the Government would look after their interests.

With 81 shopkeepers facing problems, land will be provided to each shopkeeper for setting shop. For this, a joint inspection will be held in the presence of officials from Forest Department, Uttarakhand Forest Development Corporation, Rajaji national park director Neena Grewal and Dehradun DM Chandresh Kumar Yadav on October 29.
