The State Dairy Development Minister Harish Chandra Durgapal has expressed concern over poor marketing of the State dairy department's milk brand 'Aanchal' by the officials. This is the reason why the milk producers from other States are thriving here. Reviewing the present state of dairy department at the divisional level here on Tuesday, Durgapal said that keeping in view the present state of dairy sector, it is vital on part of the field staff to have better coordination with milk producers, farmers engaged in animal husbandry and dairy committees.
More so, he added, the officials concerned of the dairy departments must take necessary steps to ensure that the sale volume of milk and other dairy products increases. Notably, dairy sector plays a significant role in the State's economy. It not just strengthens the economy but provides jobs to women and unemployed youths of the hill State, he added. That is why aside from boosting milk production we have to evolve an effective marketing strategy in view of new dairy firms from other states giving a tough competition, he added.
