The state minister for higher education and cooperatives, Dhan Singh Rawat, deputy leader of opposition and Ranikhet MLA, Karan Mahra and BJP leader and MLA from Khatima, Pushkar Singh Dhami were found positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday. Ahead of the monsoon session of Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha, the swab samples of the MLAs and the ministers were taken for Covid-19 test on Monday. Incidentally Mahra who was tested positive for the disease on Tuesday had attended a meeting of Congress legislative party (CLP), all party meeting and meeting of business advisory committee at Vidhan Sabha on Monday. The speaker Prem Chand Agarwal, Leader of Opposition Indira Hridayesh and many MLAs are infected with Covid-19.
