All the mining-related activities will remain suspended in Udham Singh Nagar from June 16 to September 30 this year, keeping in view of the approaching monsoon season.
Informing this, Pankaj Kumar Pandey, District Magistrate, Udham Singh Nagar, warned that in case any mining lease holder was found continuing with mining activities in defiance of the order all necessary actions would be taken as per law.
Mention worthy, Udham Singh Nagar is a sensitive district from the standpoint of flood. This is because of much of the district coming under Terai unlike many other hill districts.
