Taking note of the input provided in course of the police investigation as highlighted in the media that the hardened gangster Amit Malik alias Bhura had firmed up the nitty gritty of his escape right from his cell in Dehradun-based Suddhowala jail, the Uttarakhand Minister of Prison and Urban Development Pritam Singh Panwar has directed the Secretary (Home) to conduct an inquiry and submit the report to him soon. Panwar said this while talking to The Pioneer over phone on Thursday.

Moreover, Additional Director-General of Police (law and order) Ram Singh Meena said that police teams had inspected the Suddhowala jail and recovered a mobile phone battery and a map.

Police teams got some clues through surveillance which revealed that Bhura had chalked out the details of his escape by using mobile phone inside the jail. Identities of the persons whom Bhura was in touch with while masterminding the escape plan from his prison cell have been established. Some suspects are being questioned too.

He further said that about 30 teams, including Special Operation Group, Special Task Force and Cyber Cell, were  constituted and they are now working on special information as well as direction being given by senior officers to apprehend the accused and recover the weapons looted from the police. Police also got some other crucial information from different sources and some teams are working jointly with Uttar Pradesh and Delhi police to crack the case at the earliest, he added.
