U’khand Met Centre is mulling to install 62 more automatic weather systems to obtain more reliable and continuous meteorological data from various places, especially along Char Dham Yatra stretch. Regarding this, a proposal has been sent to the Centre, said Bikram Singh on Friday. A total of 24 AWSs have been installed in the State out of which four such AWSs were installed by the state in Tyuni, Munsiyari, Ghansali and Gairsain. A total of 12 snow gauge will be installed at various locations in the state for snow measure, Singh stated, adding that a snow gauge has been installed at Mukteshwar in the state so far. He also said that with ITBP and Army personnel being deployed along intl border in the mountainous parts of the state, a proposal has been sent to the Centre to install snow gauge and rain gauge along the border areas to gauge rain and snow there.
