Uttarakhand Meteorological Centre has forecast cloudy sky and light to moderate rain/snow at many places in northern districts of Uttarakhand with slight possibility of rather heavy rainfall especially in Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Pithoragarh districts.
light rain/thunder showers could occur at a few places in southern districts of Uttarakhand, said Uttarakhand Meteorological Centre director Anand Sharma. He attributed this to western disturbances and induced cyclonic circulation over Haryana and neighbouring districts of Uttar Pradesh. The weather is expected to improve by February 9.
Sharma further said that the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded 19.2°C and 7.5 °C respectively in Dehradun on Thursday. The weather forecast for Dehradun on Friday is cloudy sky and rain/thunder showers at some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 19°C and 10°C respectively on Friday in Dehradun. The weather forecast for Uttarakhand on Friday is light to moderate rain/snow at many places in northern districts of Uttarakhand, with slight possibility of more than moderate rain/snow at isolated places especially in mountainous regions of Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Pithoragarh districts.
