Uttarakhand Meteorological Centre has forecast moderate rain and snow at many places in higher reaches of Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Almora, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts. About 05- 15 cm snowfall may occur at places at 2300-3300 metres altitude while 15- 30 cm snowfall is forecast in places above 3300 metres altitude, said Uttarakhand Metrological Centre director Anand Sharma on Wednesday. State normally receives rainfall due to western disturbances during this time.
He said that the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 17.7°C and 5.7°C respectively in Dehradun on Wednesday. The weather forecast for Dehradun on Thursday is generally cloudy sky and light rain/thunder showers at some places. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 15°C and 9°C respectively on Thursday in Dehradun.
