light to moderate rainfall/thundershowers have been forecast for many places in Uttarakhand on Friday. The Met office said that moderate rain/thundershowers might occur at many places across Uttarakhand till August 8 starting from Thursday. In Dehradun, light to moderate rainfall was reported from some areas, particularly those adjacent to the mountainous parts. Otherwise, things were hot and humid.
The weather forecast for Dehradun on Friday is partly to generally cloudy sky and light rain/ thundershowers in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 34ºC and 25ºC respectively on Friday. Over the past 24 hours by 8.30 am on Thursday, rainfall of varying degrees was reported from some places in the state. While 1.8 mm rainfall was reported from Tehri it was 2.2 mm from Mukteshwar.
The Met centre director Bikram Singh informed that the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 35.2ºC Celsius and 25.3ºC Celsius in Dehradun respectively while it was 24.8ºC and 15.3ºC in Mukteshwar, 25.9ºC and 17.6ºC in Tehri and 35.6ºC and 27.0ºC in Pantnagar on Thursday.
